ASUS 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Delayed For Transformer Pad Infinity – ASUS Comments On Situation

Just mere days ago, ASUS revealed their change log schedule for updating the ASUS Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The roll out of the updates was to begin yesterday and owners of the Transformer Prime are currently enjoying the solid update to 4.1 Jelly Bean. However, news has come out from XDA stating that a new development has caused the update for the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity to be delayed.

On a forum post on XDA-Developers, ASUS Technical Marketing Manager Gary Key explained that the company had run into a few technical problems with the keyboard when accessing the recently updated Facebook application.

Key was quoted as saying:

“For those users in the US and Canada, the 10.4.4.16 Release should be available early next week. A couple of applications that were recently updated (Facebook 1.9.10 on 9/20 as one example) required a last minute firmware update for the keyboard to operate correctly in the “Comment” area with Android 4.1. Sorry about the slight delay but this fix needed to be implemented before release.”

Always open with its user base, ASUS continues to keep everyone updated on the situation and has provided a time table for a solution. What are your thoughts? Were you highly excited for the update to only have to wait a bit longer? Stay tuned to DroidDog for continued coverage on the situation.
