Google Wallet No Longer Supports Verizon Galaxy Nexus

Verizon may have blocked the Google Wallet app from their Galaxy Nexus all this time, but it didn’t stop people from installing it anyway. Sideloading, through the browser, or even just coming pre-loaded with custom ROMs, there were many ways to get it installed. The thing is, it would work just fine.

Now, it seems that either Verizon or Google has fully blocked the app from working with the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. It will give you an error when opened, like shown in the photo, but when you hit update, it will tell you that your device is not compatible. What a shame.

There are already a few fixes around (hit the source link and look in the comments, or you can Google to find them), but it’s just too bad that they would do such a thing to us. Carriers really do have too much power.

Still working on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

I have always been a massive supporter of Verizon because they have always had the best network. However more and more lately I'm feeling like I have an apple device (even tho I have a Galaxy Nexus). Verizon is using the same tactics that apple uses in controlling their devices. It's the reason I have never made a move to iPhone, and it may become the reason I move away from Verizon. Google apps is why I stick with Android, and for Verizon to block and control a stock Google app is offensive, and even more offensive since it really is none of Verizon business if I use Google Wallet to pay for items. I'm thinking it may be time to switch... Can you hear this Verizon??
