Image Leak on Picasa Reveals Alleged Camera Capture Sample Of Galaxy Nexus 2

Just earlier today, a rumor had been circulating on tech blogs that the next Nexus device would be arriving from HTC as the Nexus 5. However, it was not too long ago, that specs had been leaked for the Galaxy Nexus successor – the Samsung I9260. Well it appears images have leaked on Picasa of the Galaxy Nexus Premiere’s photo capture capabilities.

At this time there is no way to confirm that these are, in fact, attributable to the Galaxy Nexus 2 or perhaps another Samsung phone. In any case, you can see a photo taken by this mysterious device below.

According to GSMArena, the device is listed at having an F/2.65 aperture and a focal length of 4mm. The Galaxy SIII, in comparison, has an aperture of F/2.6 and a focal length of 3.6mm. To simplify, the higher the aperture, the better the resolution. But a focal length that is lower has greater optical power. Never the less, these leaked specs could indicate that the phone, like the Galaxy Nexus before it, will not have a very good camera. Although the specs seem an improvement over the Galaxy SIII, the photos are not all that impressive to say the least. For a device that has yet to hit the market, you would hope the device’s photo quality would at least rival the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple’s iPhone 5.

In addition to the camera, the Samsung I9260 is believed to have an improved CPU (Cortex A9 dual-core at 1.5GHz instead of 1.2 GHz), a microSD card slot, and the same 4.65″ Super AMOLED HD display. Also it will be the first device to ship Android OS version Key Lime Pie. Although this may seem contradictory to earlier reports of simply a new updated version of Jelly Bean. However, just as the HTC information earlier, this is all associated to rumors until an official confirmation. Interestingly enough, could this be a sign of the oft-rumoed 5 Nexus devices coming this year? Stay tuned to DroidDog for more information as it becomes available.

i don't see why people take photos like these seriously, it is ridiculously easy to fake this kind of data

You're completely wrong with aperture and focal length. For focal length, the higher the number the more "zoom" it has. With aperture, the lower the number, the more light it can let in, which means a shallower depth of field and better low light capabilities. I don't even know where you got your information.
