With an HTC media event scheduled for September 19, speculation has been rampant regarding what the company will be unveiling. Rumors have suggested that one possibility could be the 5-inch mystery device that’s apparently heading to Verizon. Earlier in the week, many sites revealed leaked images that displayed a side shot of the black and red device. Now a new blurry-cam image has been leaked showing off the front of the device.
Despite the poor image quality, the phone does show a few things. First, the phone seems to have ditched the usual HTC design language – not sporting the popular design of the HTC One phone. Second, based on the button placement and size, as well as the thin horizontal bezel, it’s likely we’re looking at a large-screened smartphone.
According to Chinese site Techorz, which originally posted the photo, reports suggest that the device will ship with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a 1080p or 720p display. Those specs match up with what’s been rumored, although the site also mentions that this could be the “Endeavor C2,” something we’re pretty sure is another phone altogether. Reports in the past month have indicated that the “Endeavor C2″ or “One X+” is a refreshed version of HTC’s early 2012 flagship.
