LG Optimus G Hands-On Videos, Will This Defeat The Galaxy S III?

As LG showed off the Optimus G to the US press this morning, our minds are already wondering if this really is a Galaxy S III competitor, or just another hopeful? Early hands-on have been pretty positive, though there has been some mention about how “busy” LG’s UI is. Still, it seems that even with a little extra junk on the home screen, the quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM push the phone along with nary a stutter. Other features worth noting include the 4.7″ IPS HD display, 13 megapixel camera and QSlide multitasking which allows two full-sized apps to display on the same screen.

We know you really just want to see the Optimus G in action, so check out some hands-on video courtesy of our own PhoneDog crew and the boys from Engadget.

Speaking from experience, the problem with the G2X wasn't the hardware.  It was the software and LG's stagnant attitude toward innovation.  Samsung took the same approach with the Galaxy S line...initially.  Both did this for fear of cannibalizing future sales of soon to be released devices.  With that said, I would buy the O G based on how soon the release the source code and reading more reviews.

vision77 True, but they were in no hurry to fix it. But there was no excuse for the LG MyTocuh devices. Nothing could have saved them...

It's LG, and as most of us know LG is junk... Remember the G2X? The Previous MyTouch Line? All garbage! This one won't be any better...

Kinda hard to say cuz Samsung probably won't have a quad core S4 US version for a few months
