New User Agent Profile Hints At Galaxy Nexus Successor

Rumors continue to fly around the next Galaxy Nexus smartphone (s) and a new User Agent Profile may be the best evidence a Galaxy Nexus successor is on the horizon. Samsung GT-i9260 sports a resolution of 720 x 1280, and an ARM 11 processor. The i9260 appears likely as a Galaxy Nexus successor as the current Galaxy Nexus is designated as i9250, so the small step in model numbers seems like a logical succession.

Unfortunately, details are slim as a broader list of specs in the User Agent Profile is absent, and the ARM 11 processor, which sounds outdated, is often used by Samsung as a placeholder on these pages. On a separate note, it could also reference the ARM Cortex-A11, which would be a step up from the current Galaxy Nexus dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9. Initial rumors had hinted at a 1.5GHz dual-core A9 CPU, so at this point we’re still keeping our hopes up for a major upgrade in processor speed.

For now, the i9260 poses a few questions, including just how big of an upgrade will it be from the current model Galaxy Nexus? Will it hit store shelves under the name “Galaxy Premier,” referenced in another document obtained by Pocket Now.

While we wait for confirmation from Google, Samsung or another manufacturer, what do you want in a Galaxy Nexus successor? What would it take to get you to buy it no questions asked hardware wise?

32 GB . 8 meg camera .. at least 2100 mah battery.. made by moto. Designed like a mix of the RAZR and one x. With a lap top dock accessory

Better twitter and Facebook integration..

So this is Nexus device one of the rumored five. Really hoping HTC gets into the mix w/ another Nexus phone

It should have a very long lasting battery.

The next nexus needs to have a quad core, expandable memory or 32GB+ phone storage basically comparable to the Galaxy S III but better. The only thing stopping me from owning a Nexus device is onboard storage and lack of expanded memory. Releasing a phone with these limits considering the of Apps, music and photos a phone can store is equivalent to handicapping it especially with data caps and ls on networks; google drive and drop box like services only provide a limited remedy. Fix this google! :-/

schneider007 I'm sure it will have the quad core processor, but doubt it will have the expandable memory; as Google themselves doesn't favor it. But they should at least give it 32 GB internal memory and also over a 64 GB version. Cloud services are great, but I prefer not to have cloud storage.

That would make it worth owning for sure 16GB doesn't cut it anymore. Especially when you count the actual user accessible space. I have 16 GB HTC Amaze if it weren't for my 32GB card I'd of run out of space by now with photos alone not to mention other files. @EricMitchell

schneider007  I definitely agree with you. 32 GB should start being the default memory option for an high-end device. 16 GB shouldn't even be an option anymore, at least considering, as you stated, only about 13 GB is actually available for you to use after the OS and other programs are preinstalled. I had to buy the 32 GB S3 because there's no way the 16 GB would settle for me.

If this damn Nexus IS NOT Moto. I'll be quite sad. :(

HansKwazneski It's pretty clear that it's Samsung.

EricMitchell 1) if this is indeed THE next Galaxy Nexus. 2) There have been PLENTY of rumors of a moto one and even many others.

HansKwazneski True, but there are reasons to why Motorola won't be releasing the next Nexus device. Reason being that with Google's purchase of Motorola, which I am sure you know the details of that Google's statement about keeping Moto and Google separate. Plus, with Google buying Motorola, it wouldn't be surprising that most people would assume that Motorola will be releasing the next Nexus phone. Another reason being that Samsung has released the past two Nexus devices, so it would be likely for Samsung to release the next one. However, there have been rumors that there will be more than one nexus device released this year so Moto could be releasing a Nexus phone as well. I'm not ruling anything out, just stating what would be the most likely to happen.

EricMitchell Listen, I'm NOT disagreeing with you, but you can't disagree, with every manufacturer, making unlockable phones, the time has kind of arrived that multiple manufacturer NEXUS devices is acceptable, and most definitely POSSIBLE!

A Moto Nexus would be fantastic, sexy hardware with an open platform? C'mon now.

HansKwazneski Yes, I do agree with that.

You got me there! Lol. I love Motorola phone because of their quality phones and sexy hardware. My very first Android phone was the original Motorola Droid. Loved it so much. If I wasn't the type of person who always wanted a phone with the best specs, I would still own that phone. Haha. But with me being locked to Sprint, I'm not a fan of the Motorola Photon Q, so I ended up with the S3. I just wish that Moto would stop releasing their best phones only for Verizon.
