Samsung Giving Modern Combat 3, Shadowgun, and Asphalt 7 Free To Galaxy S III Owners

Samsung is utilizing as many methods as it can to encourage sales of its Galaxy SIII devices leading up to the release of Apple’s iPhone 5. With already over 20 million units sold of Samsung’s flagship device, the Korean company has pushed to target the 30 million mark by the end of the year.

Samsung has thus decided to offer Galaxy SIII owners something no other rival currently is. At this moment, for a limited time, Samsung is offering 3 premium games, free of charge. Of course, these titles can be found on the Google Play Store with a simple seach, however they obviously cost money. The only caveat is that the free games are offered from their own app store. The games listed are: Shadowgun: The LeftoverModern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, and Asphalt 7: Heat. The games are already considerably popular, having racked up a total of a couple million downloads in the Google Play Store.

Getting the games is a relatively simple task. You must either use your Samsung phone to download them or use Samsung Kies if you have it installed. Attempting to download the apps on a web browser only prompts you to use your phone or Kies.

Unfortunately owners of other Samsung devices, like the S2 and original Galaxy Note, are unable to take advantage of this offer. As of now, this is only for Galaxy S3 owners. In addition, another barrier is there are regional restrictions. So depending on where you live you may not be able to take advantage of this offer.

Samsung hasn’t mentioned how long the promotion will last. So if you intend on cashing in on the free games offer, you should probably do so soon. You can check out the pages for each game below.

Seems to not be available in the U.S.

So - been trying for a little bit to get these apps on my phone. Got the Samsung App store, tried it through Kies Air, etc., all to no avail - can't even get the software to show up in the store!

It seems as though there's something a little hinky going on. I got my Samsung Galaxy S III the day it was released, on Verizon, in the US. According to the Samsung Apps store, it's available for the Samsung Galaxy S III (model GT-I9300). My phone is the model SCH-I535. So, I presume the store isn't even recognizing my phone as a GSIII. Fishy, and disappointing. Not as disappointing as finding out that the quad core version of the GSIII wasn't approved in the US, so we got the yesteryear dual core option instead. Boooo. Phone still rocks though.
