AT&T And T-Mobile Teaming Up To Provide Better Coverage In Sandy Affected Areas

While it may not be a merger this time, AT&T and T-Mobile are teaming up to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Today they stuck a deal that will allow the two to share towers and networks in parts of New York and New Jersey, with phones defaulting to the one with better coverage. This should help those who need to take an urgent call after the large Hurricane, and I’m sure more than a few customers will appreciate the extra coverage. For those in affected areas with T-Mobile or AT&T service, your phone will make the switch automatically.

We’re not sure how long the deal will last, but it’s great to hear that the two carriers are coming together in a time of need.
