AT&T just announced their third quarter 2012 financial results, including a “record sales quarter” for android devices. In total, AT&T had a net increase of 678,000 in total wireless subscribers which included gains in every customer category, resulting in the company’s best ever third-quarter churn.
AT&T sold a total of 6.1 million smartphone’s in the third quarter, which included 4.7 million iPhone’s leaving the remaining 1.4% to be split among Blackberry, Windows Phone and Android. AT&T’s total smartphone subscriber count is now 44.5 million, up 1.4 million customers from the second quarter of 2012.
All said and done, AT&T added some customers, made themselves a lot of money and produced a short video with AT&T Mobility Head Ralph de la Vega to discuss how the company performed.
