Now that Google is officially selling its own tablet, it’s coming down on poor tablet app design. Not with an iron fist, but with some friendly help. On the Android Developers Blog, they have released a Tablet App Quality Checklist to aid developers in creating an app that works well on tablets. They offer guidelines, external links to more help, sample code, and examples of well designed apps. They also have help on making a good icon for a tablet.
They also have a Google+ Android Developers account you can follow for more info. We all hope that more developers will listen and start optimizing apps for tablets, as our precious Android tablets just don’t have the software support they deserve.
