Last week, we reported that one lucky Japanese consumer had received a 32GB Nexus 7 in place of his 16GB order. Earlier rumors had suggested that Google was planning on phasing out the 16GB variation of their hit tablet with the 32GB version. Retailer sites and inventories only further gave credence to this theory.
There has been little doubt, however, that Google and ASUS aren’t going to be announcing the 32GB version of the Nexus 7 very soon. Well according to UK tech site ITProPortal, the site states that the new tablet will appear in the Christmas gift guide for UK retailer Argos. The gift guide will launch this week so there is a possibility the new device could be available this week to coincide with the guide’s release. Previous reports have suggested that the 32GB Nexus 7 would be launching next week, on October 24, so this certainly isn’t out of the realm of possibility. As for pricing, you can expect this new version to be priced the same as the 16GB version, which is £199 ($320) and the 8GB version will remain at £159 ($255).
Please keep in mind, that the device may not launch along side this holiday gift guide this week. It could also happen to launch in or around the same time as when Google and LG launch the newest Nexus handset, the Nexus 4.
