Google’s Playground Nexus Event Details Leaked In Full?

It goes without saying that we’re eager to find out exactly what Google has in store for their upcoming “Playground” event taking place next week. We can thank the boys at TheNextWeb who think they’ve got a source that can nail down everything that Google has planned for next week.

In no particular order we should see the official unveiling of a 32GB Nexus 7 variant, along with a second 32GB variant that offers HSPA+/3G connectivity.

Moving along is word that Google will unveil the rumored 10″ tablet they’ve got cooking up with Samsung. Dubbed “Codename Manta,” the new tablet is said to run Android 4.2 and offer a 2560 x 1600 pixel display. Such a display would offer 300 pixels per inch (ppi) which would exceed the new iPad’s 264ppi. It’s believed that Google and Samsung will offer the new tablet up simply as the “Nexus 10,” but the name remains unconfirmed.

The third bit of news is the reveal of the LG Nexus 4, featuring a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, 4.7″ 1280 x 768 display, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and a 2100mAh battery. Powered by Android 4.2, the Nexus 4 by LG marks the manufacturers first foray into the Nexus line and is said to be based loosely on LG’s recently unveiled Optimus G.

Speaking of Android 4.2, it’s been confirmed that Google will show off some new features including “Content in the center,” which will allow users access to Play Store content from a widget and “Tablet Sharing” which will suit families and enterprise users, offering up a simple and easy way to switch between separate users on a tablet, each with their own email and apps. Additionally, Google will add new panoramic camera settings that will update to both horizontal and vertical movements automatically.

For the moment, we have to take all of this as grains of salt rumor but it’s starting to line up with everything else we’ve heard out of Mountain View.

So what do you think? Did you want more?

I think they should name it the "Nexus G" and keep to the numbers for tablets.. It makes sense to. "Nexus One", ONE being an HTC thing with their One X and One S.  "Nexus S" with Samsung's S line up as well as their Galaxy naming. So Nexus G would just make sense considering LG has the Optimus "G". And if Sony were to release one then should be the Nexus X because of Xperia

OOOH, a Nexus with HSPA+ I want! Or I'll take a Nexus 10 if the price is right!... On another note, I'd love it if Sony had a Xperia Nexus in the works or HTC made a Nexus based on their "One" series.. but what the heck would they name it? They can't name it the Nexus One again? Perhaps the One N??

Just random thinking...

Oh...so much for "leaked in full". I assumed you had more than just a bunch of rumors. Silly me.

I swear these writers need an editor to spell check every article. Sorry but it gets annoying after awhile.

If they really are, they shouldn't name the lg nexus the "nexus 4" because that's going into the tablet naming system ... people will confuse the nexus 4 with the nexus 7, for example.

SkyPira How do you confuse 4 and 7?!?!? Since it is the 4th Nexus there is no reason for it not to be called Nexus 4! the first Nexus was called the Nexus One, remember!

Matlock i mean the naming structure. people who dont know any better will think the nexus 4 is some tablet or whatever. plus, the nexus one was spelled out as "one", not 1.  its also because the numbers give the impression that the screen is 4" when named like that.

SkyPira I get what you're saying! Im just hoping this year, they wont screw us in the states here over by releasing overseas first, as far as the unlocked variant goes. I hated having to bust out  the money I did, to have mine at launch. Also, hopefully no more carrier variants.

Matlock i agree! carrier variants ruin the whole effect of nexuses because updates dont get to you as fast

SkyPira  Matlock I'm not sure Google had a full plan when they decided to do their "own" phone, or they weren't sure of how successful their Nexus line would be. which kinda screwed with the naming convection... They should just go ahead and have the Nexus moniker with the OEM name attached. Though Optimum Nexus G or however they would decide to name it would sound really stupid.. LOL
