HTC J Butterfly Introduced To The World, 5″ Goodness Likely Headed To Verizon
All those rumors about a 5″ HTC flagship device were not only true, but it’s even more beautiful than we could have hoped. The HTC J Butterfly is a follow-up to the HTC J, but this time we’re running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 9.1mm thin, 8 megapixel camera with an f/2.0 lens, and a 2020mAh battery.
The real attraction here is the 1080p Super LCD 3 display, which features a ridiculous 440 pixels per inch. Early hands-on by The Verge calls the display a “new champion” with excellent color reproduction.
It’s pretty easy to say that this device looks like it has all the goods to impress even the most spec hungry of Android fans. We’re a little disappointed by the small(er) battery, but we’ll have faith that HTC tweaked the software enough to power you through a full days use. I’m sure there’s plenty more to come on this phone in the next couple days so take a sneak peek at the gallery below or jump over to The Verge for some video action.

This vs. Galaxy Note II... I think I'll go with the Note II since the only thing different from the next round of phones (2GB ram, S4 Pro) is its 5" 1080p display, without the corresponding battery bump (shame HTC!). At least the Note II has the wacom powered S-pen and their multitude of S-apps and other software like multiview which set it apart (at least on a software level). This phone is just like a large One X, with a better CPU, but most likely the same poor battery life.
