Microsoft Sues Motorola And Google In Germany

Microsoft is once again suing Motorola in Germany. Except this time, and this is big, Google is directly involved. It isn’t often that any company directly sues Google, they usually go just for the Android manufacturers. So this is interesting to see Google directly attacked.

The patent in question is one that refers to taking map information and overlaying it on another map. You know, maybe like traffic over satellite imagery? So it’s a patent that covers every possible map, including Nokia Maps (but Microsoft won’t sue them!). This very may end up with Motorola being forced to pay the licensing fees every other manufacturer does.

Apple is going to sue Microsoft because Apple started sueing first

Jdjdidid Ya, Apple probably has a patent on suing competitors so that no one else can successfully sue them. It would be interesting to see if Microsoft really has the patent they claim. My first exposure to satellite maps was Google. Before that everyone else (including Microsoft) just displays drawn maps. Google keeps getting bullied. I wish corporations would stop teaching children bad conduct. Just say no to bullying.
