Nikon’s Android-Based S800C Camera Is Now Available

As we highlighted back in late August, Nikon revealed their Android-powered digital camera, the S800C. Priced at $350, the S800C features Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 10x optical zoom lens, 16-megapixel sensor, 4GB internal memory, GPS sensors, and a 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED display. Well for those interested in picking up this new camera, the S800C is now shipping out orders and is readily available. For those who pre-ordered the device you should be seeing your camera within the next 5-7 business days. Check out the link below to get yours today from Amazon.

Nikon’s official press release for the camera highlights Android integration in a camera:

Enjoy high quality images that you simply cannot get with smartphones, plus wireless communication that is impossible with regular digital still cameras. Equipped with the powerful combination of Android OS and Wi-Fi, it’s possible to quickly and easily upload images to a social network service or website from this camera. Even if you’re not near a Wi-Fi hot spot, you can wirelessly transfer images from your camera to smartphones and tablets.
