Sprint Announced Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 With 4G LTE

Today Sprint has announced a new tablet for its lineup, running on its slowly growing 4G LTE network. It’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, a good tablet made even better with Sprint’s modifications. It’ll be sporting the 10.1″ 1280×800 display we’re all used to, along with a new 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 with a gigabyte of RAM. With that new processor, it should fly.

There will also be an IR blaster with an app to control any TV and set top box (and I can confirm it works well). It’ll have dual cameras (3MP rear, VGA front), 8GB of memory with a microSD slot, a 7,000 mAh battery, and will be running Android 4.0 with Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay. Considering its original price was $400 and it’s aged quite a bit, hopefully it’ll be on the budget side.

But I have to bring up the golden standard in the Android world: “Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.” This is a sin! The whole industry needs to learn.
