The War Rages On: Japanese Court Rules That Apple Did Not Infringe On 2 Samsung Patents

In the latest legal suit between the Apple and Samsung, a Tokyo court has ruled in favor of Apple stating that the Cupertino, CA did not infringe upon 2 Samsung patents wiith its iPhone 4 and 4S models. According to The Asahi Shimbun, a decision on September 14th found Apple had not violated a patent related to app downloads, rather that Samsung utilizes a different method altogether.

In addition, a complaint against Apple on the implentation of the flight / airplane mode also went in Apple’s favor on October 11th. The courts deemed that the technology in question was regarded as incremental. Currently there is only one case left undecided against Apple in Japan for a patent relating to using “homescreen space”. Nevertheless, this will not be the last we hear of the two tech giants battling it out in the legal space.
