When ASUS announced the PadFone 2, they mentioned that it would be released in black and white. While we’ve seen plenty of the black model, we haven’t seen hide or hair of the other coat of paint. That takes a 180° turn today as a whole lot of shots of the white version have come out. Chinese site, VR-Zone, has snagged several high-quality shots of the device along with its tablet dock. The device looks the same as the black model but with a fresh white look that looks very modern and in my personal opinion, incredibly beautiful.
ASUS also showed off a shot of the white PadFone 2 on their official Facebook page. Unfortunately, this shot is much lower quality but it shows several PadFone 2′s in both white and black with the caption, “Life is beautiful…with PadFone 2 =)” It doesn’t show anything different from what VR-Zone gave us but it does indeed give us our first shot of the device that’s officially come from ASUS.
If you’re in need of a specs reminder on the PadFone 2 then we’ll be glad to oblige. The PadFone 2 comes packing a 4.7″ 1280×720 Super IPS+ display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 2,140mAh battery, and Android 4.0 which is upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Meanwhile, the tablet docking station of the PadFone 2 has a 10.1″ 1280×800 display, 5,000mAh battery, and 1-megapixel front camera.
While the PadFone 2 is an interesting concept that won’t appeal to everyone, it certainly has a niche in the market. It’s good to see ASUS working to please more customers by offering a second color option for the device, especially a nicely done look like this.
