The HTC DROID DNA never stops getting press, it seems. But here is a good one for all the modders out there. We reported on the DROID DNA getting root, custom recovery, and a custom kernel, all thanks to the HTCdev official bootloader unlock. All before the devices launch date. Things were looking up, but out of nowhere, the bootloader becomes no longer unlockable through the tool. We don’t know who caused it, but we can guess.
Now here is the good news. Developers have found a way to coax the tool into working with the DROID DNA again. It’s a complicated process, but it’s one that will get you an official bootloader unlock, so it’s definitely worth it. Of course, it’s also dangerous, so proceed at your own risk and don’t do this if you don’t know how to use ADB. We aren’t responsible for any damage to your device.
