Nexus 7 Docking Station Shows Up On ASUS’s Japanese Website, Slated For Release In Early December

Remember how the Nexus 7 has those pogo pins on the side that don’t really have a use right now? Good news, it’s looking like they’re going to get a use after all. It’s been found on the ASUS Japan website that there’s a listing for a Nexus 7 audio dock that holds the tablet in a nice landscape format.

Unfortunately, there’s not too much known about this audio dock. It looks to have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port living on the back and as far as we can see, there’s no connections connecting the tablet to the dock except for its pogo pins which means that they must transfer both power and audio. It’s listed for 3,480 Japanese Yen which converts to about $41 in the US. A bit pricey for its functionality but it could be worse. It’s also listed as being available in early December which just so happens to be right around the corner.

If it’s released in other countries besides Japan before Christmas then it could make a decent Christmas gift for a Nexus 7 owner out there. It lacks a bit in the functionality department but being the only official dock for the Nexus 7 does have an appeal. Will any of you be opening up your wallets for this?
