With all the hype surrounding Samsung’s Galaxy Note II, it’s sometimes easy to forget the original. Samsung hasn’t given up on the device yet, as a new build of the official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 test firmware for the original phablet has leaked. There is a caveat however, as this update is only for the international variant of the Galaxy Note.
Flashing the ROM should be a breeze, as it’s an official build and no firmware is required. Word is that the build is fully functional, and that Samsung is planning on letting it loose to all devices in the next two months. It’s good to see that Samsung is keeping its older devices up-to-date, something that Android has sorely needed.
As for the US variants of the device, we have no idea when or if they’ll even see Jelly Bean. We can only keep our fingers crossed for now, but we cant see that Samsung is dedicated. Anyone with the original Galaxy Note N7000 can hit the source link to grab the build now, and be sure to let us know how it works in the comments below.
