Samsung Announces Galaxy S III Sales Have Passed Thirty Million

Samsung’s certainly celebrating a big week with a second announcement featuring their “other” flagship device and its own sales milestone. Just two days after announcing sales of the Galaxy Note II passed 3 million, Samsung’s Poland Twitter account (the Tweet has since been removed) added some more good news for the Korean manufacturer as they announced sales of 30 million units of the Galaxy S III. Samsung didn’t clarify if the number amounts to units they have sold or units they have shipped, but either way would show that Samsung is clearly riding high on their two newest flagship devices.

It’s clear that Samsung is continuing to dominate the Android crowd and while LG may get some attention in the coming weeks with the launch of the Nexus 4, Samsung is quite obviously the King of the Android hill.

@sly i dont know whats up with some people saying amoled displays are bad. I actually prefer the colors of the amoled. Its not the perfect phone of course.. no phone is.. but seriously flawed?? Try owning one before you actually comment like that

I bet the guy with the 3 feels really important in that photo.

I use and love Android on my HTC, but I can't help but get the feeling that the S3 is getting to be just like the iPhone. It is a moderately impressive, yet seriously flawed device that has now obviously millions of fanboys who are willing to overlook its shortcomings and cheer its supposed perfection. The iPhone has beautiful industrial design and an excellent quality display let down but a suboptimal OS and arguably smaller-than-ideal size. The Galaxy has excellent software yet has cheap construction and is hindered by a terribly inaccurate display. Somehow the Apple fanboys refuse to recognise that Android is technologically ahead. So the Galaxy fanboys refuse to acknowledge that the AMOLED displays are just a mess.

@sly is my galaxy s3 made of plastic? Yes, it is. However the display is gorgeous. What are you talking about?

1) My SIII is all in one piece after 2+ months of normal use.  No signs of faulty construction.  Plastic may be cheap, but it sure isn't shoddy.  Sure, dropping your naked SIII could be bad news.  If that's your main concern spend your money elsewhere.

2) Color accuracy isn't a huge deal.  No one does serious graphics work on a phone.  Besides, AMOLED is a relatively new technology.  It'll mature over time.
