Samsung Galaxy Camera Available For Purchase In The UK

Thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Camera have been very mixed, but whatever they are, it is now available for purchase in the UK. The price on both Clove and Expansys is £420 (Clove has it for £350, but it ends up being £420 with VAT), and they start shipping soon. Clove expects the white models to ship on the 12th, while black models are delayed. Expansys says they expect stock in 9 days, so they should ship soon after.

With a 16 megapixel sensor paired with a 21x zoom lens, it should be a good and very versatile point and shoot. With a comfortable grip and a pop out xenon flash, it will also take better photos than any smartphone (or should, really. The xenon flash will definitely help). And with some powerful internals, like a 1.4 GHz quad core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.8″ 1280×720 LCD display, HDMI out, and HSPA radios, it will blaze through any task. Powering this device is Android 4.1 with TouchWiz on top, making this a smart and always connected camera.

I, for one, can’t wait to get my hands on one of these. While it wouldn’t suit my needs as a photographer, it’d take more satisfying photos (especially at night with the real flash) than my phone, all in a small body. My only problem with it is paying the extra data plan, but that’s quite acceptable for some people. Will you be getting one? Tell us in the comments!
