Here’s a surprising story. The 3G version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (model GT-P7300) is now receiving Ice Cream Sandwich around the world. Surprising because it’s so late, of course. The original Tab 8.9 got the update many months ago, and since then, Android 4.2 has been released. Considering how slow Samsung has been to update their tablets (and to an extent, that was ok, but this is a bit ridiculous), we don’t see much hope in them ever getting Jelly Bean. These early tablets were nothing but beta tests and have been nearly forgotten, and it’s sad to see this happen.
If you want the update, go into Settings and mash the check for updates button. If that doesn’t work, you can always try Kies desktop software. If you get it, tell us how it goes. Also tell us if you’re disappointed, because I’m sure many people just don’t care.
