The FCC’s 180-day review of the T-Mobile/MetroPCS merger has been temporary halted while the US Department of Justice and the FBI conduct an investigation around the merger.
The US Department of Justice and the FBI filed a request asking the FCC to “defer action” in regards to the T-Mobile/MetroPCS merger. The US DoJ and FBI are reviewing the merger for any national security, law enforcement, and public safety issues.
This doesn’t mean the merger has been approved or anything. This just means that the FCC has to stop any work related to the T-Mobile/MetroPCS merger while this review is in progress. The FCC is currently on day 32 of the 180-day review and has not made any statements whether or not they are stopping their clocks while the US DoJ and FBI do their business.
