Amazon Allegedly Asks Foxconn To Manufacture New Phone

Amazon entering the smartphone market has been a popular topic ever since they first released their Android-powered Kindle Fire. There have been countless rumors, and this is no different. Taiwan Economic News claims that Amazon has asked Foxconn to build their phone and has already placed a five million unit order. They have also said that the phone will launch Q2 to Q3 of 2013 and will cost somewhere from $100 to $200. Again, this is all rumor. What do you think? Will Amazon be able to pull off a $200 phone?

My guess is if Amazon pulls this off it will be like a pocket sized book reader that also is a phone. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of this.
