AT&T Racking In Smartphone Sales This Quarter, Already Sold 6.4 Million

Quarter 4 is easily the most popular shopping season due to the holidays, and at least one carrier is basking in its benefits. AT&T‘s CEO Ralph de la Vega spoke at an investors conference today, and the company is already killing it in sales. So far they have sold 6.4 million smartphones this quarter, and we’re just two months in.

The good news for Ma Bell doesn’t stop there, as de la Vega believes that the company will sell a total of 26 million smartphones this year. That’s 1 million more than was originally anticipated, and that’s a lot of phones. We’ll have to see how AT&T finishes the quarter out, but as of now things are looking good for the nation’s second largest carrier.

Yeah, Randall L. Stephenson is the CEO. I guess Ralph is the chief of operations for the mobility side of AT&T? Anyway, I'm curious as to what is going to happen with the whole ISIS/Google Wallet thing.. this is what I'm talking about: http://thebestsites.com/more/google-wallet-needs-a-miracle/

Hey Joey, being a former employee of ATT, you had me baffled for a moment. I knew Ralph to be head of the wireless branch, but not CEO of ATT. As far as I knew, that was Randall L. Stephenson. You had me believing (just momentarily) that something had changed. Yes, indeed Ralph is CEO of the Mobility side of things at AT&T.
