Huawei Informally Shows Off Their 6.1″ 1080p Powerhouse, The Ascend Mate

If you thought that the Galaxy Note II was much too large then you may just want to stop reading now. Huawei Chairman, Richard Yu, couldn’t help but show off the phone he had in a Huawei store in Guangzhou on Saturday. The Huawei Ascend Mate is the gargantuan of a phone that weighed down his pocket and it manages to pack a 6.1″ 1080p display, 1.8GHz quad-core processor, massive 4,000mAh battery, 9.9mm body thickness, and a price tag of around ¥3,000 or about $480. While you try to pick your jaw up off the floor, you can watch the short video of it in action below. If you want to see the device get a more formal introduction then you’re going to have to hold out for CES 2013 where Yu says that the final specs may be slightly different.
