One Marketing Tactic, Push Incredible Amounts Of Money Into It Like Samsung’s Doing

Ever wondered how Samsung manages to sell so many phones over their competitors? If a new report is to be believed then the key looks to be pumping huge funds into marketing and advertising. Asymco put together a nice graph comparing the marketing funds put in by several companies even including such an enormous company as Coca-Cola. Looking at the report shows that Samsung spent about 11,375 million dollars in marketing in 2012 alone. I mean, is that really necessary?

It seems even crazier when you compare it to Apple who spends a great deal less. But you have to take into account that Apple is probably one of the most well-known companies in America so they don’t need to push their product advertising as much. Hopefully that money is really helping Samsung as that seems just a tad extravagant. Your thoughts on the matter are welcome in the comments below.

Interesting. Among those I talk to, Asus is seem as worthy contender against Samsung. HTC speaks of being "Quietly Brilliant." I'd sooner award that to Asus. Their approach seems to be a less aggressive growth. They've gained respect with the quality of their products. I am not as aware of their marketing as I am Samsung's and yet I am aware of their products. I wonder how much they spend. The article mentioned a comparison to Apple but I think a comparison to Asus might be more fair in that they are both offshore firms.
