Original Motorola DROID RAZR Receiving Jelly Bean Update For Christmas

Looks like Verizon and Motorola are giving the original DROID RAZR owners a bit of a Christmas present. People are getting update notifications today for a hefty 331MB update. Because it was unannounced, no one knew what the update was, but surprisingly, it turned out to be Jelly Bean! After a long delay to get to Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s nice to see Motorola releasing an update fairly fast. And on Christmas of all days.

If you want the update to 4.1.2, and you haven’t gotten the update notification yet, go to Settings > About phone > System updates and check for new updates. Hopefully you’ll be getting it soon, but we know you’ll enjoy it. With Project Butter, Google Now, and many other improvements, it’s a wonderful update. Merry Christmas to you too, Verizon.

Thanks,

The problems with my MAXX started with the "downgrade"  to Ice Cream Sandwich.

An ICS upgrade was supposed to be available to correct problems but it never happened.

Was hoping Jelly Bean would make things better.

Let me know if you find out anything new.

My wife received the update and i didn't even though we have the same phones. RAZR maxx. Hers runs much smoother and quicker but the wifi will not turn on. Maybe why they pulled it.

I managed to install it manually with my SD card after downloading it through a mirror, search jelly bean update for razr, you'll be sure to find the early OTA leak.

I have asked several people with the Razr and nobody has received the update. Has this been confirmed? Verizon and Motorola know nothing about it either.
