Earlier in August, Samsung released information about its Exynos 5250 SoC (system on chip), also known as the Exynos 5 Dual. It is highly anticipated, especially since it features a dual-core 1.7Ghz Cortex A15 CPU & Mali T604 GPU that could rival and surpass many of the quad-core processors today (including the international Samsung Galaxy SIII as well as the NVIDIA Tegra 3).
But now some more information has been found on Samsung’s Kernel Git page that reveals that there’s another, even stronger, SoC in the works; one that features a quad-core processor based on the Cortex A15 CPU.
Samsung has dubbed this SoC the Exynos 5440. The Exynos 5440 SoC could be clocked up to 2.0Ghz and is speculated to be featured in the Samsung Galaxy SIV.
We don’t know the full facts yet, but we’re hoping that the entire mystery of the Exynos 5440 gets cleared up at the 2013 Mobile World Congress being held on February 25th.
