Sony Yuga Set To Be Unveiled In Early 2013 – 5-Inch 1080p Display On Board

The Sony Yuga rumors have been circulating the blogosphere for months now, and now it looks like we’re getting closer and closer to its potential release.

The Sony Yuga is set to be unveiled in early 2013, so we’re thinking it’ll be either at the Consumer Electronics Show or Mobile World Congress.

The device is also said to have a 5-inch 1080p display, similar to that of the HTC Droid DNA’s. The display may carry a JDI WhiteMagic display, which uses a white extra sub-pixel that offers brighter images and longer battery life. The combination of the two may make Sony’s potential flagship device a winner amongst 5-inch display devices.

The Yuga is also rumored to carry an overwhelming amount of storage, totaling 128GB. Other specs include:

  • Samsung Exynos 5 quad-core processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16MP camera
  • 3000 mAh battery
  • Dust proof and water proof

The specs sound amazing, but having 128GB of internal storage seems completely overboard and outlandish. Everything else seems to be feasible for a flagship device.

We’ll have to wait until CES or MWC for the confirmed specs, but for now we’ll just have pictures and rumors to tide us over. What are your thoughts?

128gb of storage is what i'm waiting for. the biggest problem with the current generation of phones is the internal storage size. my galaxy s3 has 16gb, of which i think what, 9 or 10 was usable. i can't even bother with having music/movies on my device because it's all taken up with games. i'm constantly having to delete games to install new ones. yea i have a 64gb microSD which I can put my music on (not spotify music though unfortunately because they stupidly removed that feature for some reason), but we all know how crappy android runs once you start moving games/apps to the sd card (i know technically any app/game that doesn't have a widget SHOULD be safe to move to SD but I've found as soon as I start moving stuff, thats when the issues arise, and this is over the course of 4 different Android phones). 128gb is far from overboard. now 3gb ram, i don't know if that's completely necessary haha.
