Pantech continues a pleasant trend of releasing only a few phones a year while providing some great bang for your buck. The newest phone in their portfolio is called the Pantech Discover, a fairly high end phone on a budget. On the outside, there is a 4.8″ display at 1280×720, a 12.6MP camera on the rear, and “3D surround sound” speakers. Inside, you get a 1.5GHz dual core. 16GB of memory, a 2,100 mAh battery, 4G LTE, NFC, and a version of Android that’s at least Ice Cream Sandwich. It has on screen buttons, and it’s good to see companies embracing that design choice.
That’s one beefy phone, being even better than the Galaxy S III on paper. We’ll see how good it ends up being, but knowing Pantech, it’ll be a great phone for the every day user (it also comes with Easy Experience mode for those new to smartphones). At only $49.99 on contract, it’ll also be a steal. It’ll be launching on January 11th, so keep an eye out for more news!
