LG has announced that it will be launching its 3rd generation of Google TVs in 2013 with 7 different models. That’s up from 2 models in 2012.
The 7 TVs will come in 5 different screen sizes.
Mario Queiroz, VP of Product Management and General Manager of Google TV, said that LG and Google partnered together to combine the speed of LG’s G3 series and magic remote with Google’s intelligent voice and search features in order to help consumers easily discover the content that they want.
The 3rd generation of LG’s Google TV’s include these features:
- Google TV Smart Home
- Voice search
- YouTube Send to TV
LG also introduced SmartShare which allows consumers to seamlessly share content from their smartphones and tablets straight to their TV.
LG also plans on bringing smart refrigerators and smart laundry machines that are compatible with your smartphones. You can keep track of the groceries inside of your refrigerator, and you can keep track of the timer and interface of your laundry machines.
LG also wants to introduce a feature that will allow you to play 3D games from your phone to your TV wirelessly and in Ultra HD/3D quality streaming.
There wasn’t a whole lot that LG announced at CES 2013. We wished that they would have introduced the LG Optimus G2, but I guess that was wishful thinking on my part?
What do you think about LG’s announcements? Are you interested in operating a smart refrigerator/laundry machine? Do you see a point in them?
