Update, So Is The Tab 2 7.0: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Receiving Jelly Bean In The US
If you’ve been waiting for the Jelly Bean update on your trusty Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, today is your lucky day. While the UK has had this update for quite a while, US customers have been left out. No longer, as you can download the update via both OTA or Kies. With this 311MB update, you get the Jelly Bean experience with TouchWiz on top. This means Project Butter, Google Now, and expandable notifications are all on board, making the device more pleasant to use. However, an official changelog has not been released.
If you want this update, you can go into Settings > About device > Software update and check to see if it’s available to you. If it isn’t, don’t fret. Updates can take a while to roll out to everyone. The alternative is to hook up your tablet to a computer and run Kies, Samsung’s software. It’s a fairly fast and easy process. Tell us if you get the update and if you find anything interesting!
Update: It seems that the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is getting its own Jelly Bean update in the US too. Good timing. It’s also both an OTA and available through Kies, so you should get it soon!
Update 2: If you want to download the full firmwares for the Tab 2 7.0, they can be found here.

I just updated my tab 2 7.0 the other night and I hate the new interface. A friend of mine has the 10 inch note and he just got the update as well and said his tablet still has the older layout with the buttons on the left and right. So my question is is there two versions of the ui and the 7 inch gets the crappy phone layout?
