Samsung SCH-I425 Godiva Is Heading To Verizon Wireless

A new Samsung device, the Samsung SCH-I425, has made its way across the GLBenchmark database. The device is codenamed “Godiva”, and it’s Verizon bound.

Here’s what we know about the device so far:

  • 1280 x 720 display resolution
  • 1.4GHz dual-core MSM8960 SoC
  • Adreno 305 graphics
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • Verizon Wireless LTE

The Samsung Godiva is said to be the next gen Samsung Stratosphere due to the pattern of its model name. The Samsung Stratosphere model number was SCH-I405, and the Samsung Stratosphere II had the model number SCH-I415, so it seems very likely that the Samsung Godiva will really be the Samsung Stratosphere III.

It looks like we have another mid-ranged QWERTY keyboard heading to Verizon Wireless from Samsung. Are you a fan of the Samsung Stratosphere line?

This really tells us very little about the device...

richardyarrell There is absolutely no reason they would ever do this. When you're selling something you market it to the largest group of potential customers possible, and guess who has that? They make plenty of devices for other carriers too, and it doesn't look like this is going to be anything special - or even anything remotely close to a flagship device, so what's the loss to other carriers? Another mid-level-nothing-special phone to confuse the typical consumer.
