Sony has released a new video on their YouTube video showcasing the capabilities of its new 2013 flagship phone, the Sony Xperia Z (you can check it out below).
The video showcases the Sony Xperia Z’s beautiful 5-inch 1080p display, water/dust resistance, 13MP camera with a Exmor R sensor & HDR video recording capabilities, wireless mirror imaging, and more.
It looks like water/dust resistance is catching on, and that’s a great thing. I would love to wash the dirt off my phone without worrying that the water will fry its internals. Though one thing in the promotional video that bothered me was when that woman was crossing the streets while being “immersed” in a video. That’s just unsafe. Don’t do that.
Here’s a full list of specs you can expect from the Sony Xperia Z:
- 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor
- 1080p HD 5-inch display
- Android 4.1 (Android 4.2 will come in the future)
- 13.1MP rear camera with Exmor R sensor
- 2.2 front-facing camera
- 2GB RAM
- Water and dust resistant
- 2,330 mAh battery
- Available in three colors: black, white and purple
- Up to 16GB memory; expandable (up to 32GB)
The device is a true beauty and may actually have a chance at competing with the high-end companies like Samsung. It is expected to hit the UK on March 1st, but a US release date is still unknown. How do you like the Sony Xperia Z?
