Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the international variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II. This is way ahead of schedule seeing as how Samsung said the first Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update would be rolling out in February, and starting in Singapore.
The update is rolling out in phases, so even if you haven’t received the update yet, you’ll receive it soon. Those of you in Spain should already be receiving the update.
The new Jelly Bean update will revamp the Samsung Galaxy S II entirely, discarding its old interface and giving it the new Nature UX Interface.
Some more improvements include:
- Buttery smooth performance & increase stability thanks to Project Butter
- TouchWiz Nature UX
- Samsung’s S Cloud services
- Improved camera features
- New lockscreen
- New features, including Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up Play
- New Widgets
- 2 home screen modes
- New notification bar
- Google Now
The Jelly Bean update will be available for download either through Samsung KIES or OTA, so keep checking.
Those of you with carrier-branded Samsung Galaxy S II’s will still have to wait a bit for your update.
