ViewSonic Unveils 24-Inch Android Jelly Bean Smart Display Tablet For $499

ViewSonic unveiled its 24-inch VSD240 at CES. It’s a smart display that runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at a 1920×1080 HD resolution. It blurs the line between tablet, computer, monitor.
Here are the specs you can expect from this beast:
- 24-inch 1920 x 1080 HD LED Display
- 1.7GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor
- 1.3MP front-facing camera
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
- HDMI port
- USB ports
- SD card expansion
You can use the device as a traditional computer by connecting a keyboard and mouse to it through the USB ports, or via Bluetooth.
The ViewSonic VSD240 will only cost $499 when it launches, which sounds pretty reasonable for a 24-inch tablet/computer/monitor. You can’t lug this thing around like a normal tablet (I mean you could if you don’t mind looking awkward), but it’s pretty affordable for a casual PC.
What do you think of the ViewSonic Smart Display? Would you opt for one?
