Google Drive Implements Deeper Integration For 3rd Party Apps

Google Drive now has a feature that revamps the “Create” menu to include 3rd party apps. This allows users to easily access their Drive-connected apps.

Google’s Nicolas Garnier said that the Drive SDK will allow developers to offer users “an experience similar to how Google Docs and Google Sheets interacts with Drive”.

There are hundreds of web apps that integrate with Google Drive, so this new feature will make life a lot easier for its users.

Users can use the “Connect more apps” feature to link their apps directly to their Drive’s “create” page. This will open a “Connect apps to Drive” dialog that lets Drive users browse Drive-enabled apps from the Chrome Web Store.

Developers who already list their Google Drive-enabled apps in the Chrome Web Store won’t need to make any changes to their apps. Google Drive will automatically grab the information from existing lstings.
