Google’s Android booth was always a huge spectacle at MWC. It would get more elaborate and more green year over year.
Unfortunately, it seems that Google will be nixing the Android booth this year. A spokesperson from Google France stated that Google will not be be setting up a booth at MWC, but will instead have an Android team to represent and support its partners.
This is probably sad news for those who attend MWC. Usually there are stands around the booth where OEMs and software makers could demo their products. There would also be a smoothie bar, a slide, giveaways and games. They offered free ice cream sandwiches last year to go along with the unveiling of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
So with Samsung only planning on having a booth at MWC instead of hosting a press conference, and with Google not preparing its elaborate Android booth, MWC looks like it’s going to be a tad bit uneventful. Let’s see if the other companies can’t make the show more lively.
