HP May Be Working On An Android Tablet, Tegra 4 Inside

Today seems to be a big day for rumors, and the latest one is about HP. This rumor states that HP is going to release an Android tablet. This isn’t surprising, it’s actually fairly expected. HP has said many times that they need to enter the mobile space to be more successful, and Android is the logical choice. webOS is dead, no matter how you look at it (I still cry myself to sleep some nights because of this) thanks to the old HP management, and HP allegedly will not be making a Windows RT tablet.

The interesting part of this rumor is that the tablet will have a Tegra 4 processor and will launch as one of the first Tegra 4 devices available. This means that they could announce it and launch it very soon, and that it’s already in development for a while. Of course, it’s just a rumor, but it isn’t one that’s hard to believe.

There is also talk about an Android smartphone, which is also possible, but is nothing but rumor. We can hope to see a nice smartphone with cues taken from Palm, as long as the Android build isn’t butchered. HP, keep the modifications light. Thank you.

So what do you think? Would you ever buy an HP Android device? Or would you avoid that? Why? Leave a comment!

We can't prove if this tablet is good if we did not try using it. Well, let just wait and see if this new HP tablet will work well.

I would say no.... except that I have a TouchPad with Cm10 on it..... I'm sure an official Android device from HP won't have the same kind of developer community behind it though, and will probably be locked down pretty hard.If they could keep the open nature of the community that's built around the TouchPad somehow, that would make it very attractive however. The TouchPad has more "support" than any other non-android android device I can think of, and a longer update lifespan update-wise than most real Android devices.
