HTC EVO 4G Updated With Security Fixes 32 Months After Release
The HTC EVO 4G is getting a brand new software update today, and if that doesn’t shock you, you’re a cold, cold person. 32 months after the release of the device, almost three years, it’s getting an update. That’s amazing support from Sprint and HTC. Most people aren’t even on contract with this phone anymore, and they still decided to keep it as secure as possible.
The update coming in is version 5.07.651.6 and should be heading to your phone as an OTA, if you still have one of these. Tell us what you think of this surprising situation in the comments!

Just got this OTA update today. I must say, I've had this device since it first came out, and it is still just as useful as it was then. When you think about how far a head a leap this was at the time.....8 megapixel camera as well as a front camera, video conferencing, removable battery and SD card, HDMI out, large screen with considerable resolution (for the time)....the list just goes on and on. Pretty cool. To be honest, this device has spoiled me. When I do decide finally to upgrade, I have no idea what I will upgrade to because I still haven't seen anything out there that is a big enough jump in capability or features to make it worth the money.
