HTC M7 May Be Called The HTC One
A new rumor is claiming that the HTC M7 will be released as the HTC One. What a simple name, blending with their current One series but taking the crown without any meaningless suffixes. We love it. Of course, we don’t know if this is accurate, but we really hope it is. M7 sounds cool and all, but it’s only a codename. What do you guys think of the rumored name? Does it work for a flagship? Or is it too simple? Tell us in the comments!
If this rumor is true, this is an absolutely fantastic idea! A friend and I were reading one of your articles the other day about the M7 and we started disscusing about it.
The M7 is a fine name and all, but what does it mean? HTC sorta broke the promise about not releasing a bunch of different phones with similar specs. They had something with the ONE series and it would be in their best interest to stick with that naming convention. Look how well it works with Apple. Look how well it worked with Samsung and the S (paticularly the S III) and Note line. This would be the perfect time to not only make good with their promise, but also have that one go-to yearly superphone, especially since it's being released across all the major carriers and none of that, "ATT gets the One X, Sprint gets HTC EVO 4G LTE, and T-Mobile gets the One S" crap. I think uniforming their portfolio will go a long way.
