HTC’s Facebook Claims HTC One Series Is Getting Sense 5
It seems like a faithful HTC fan has asked HTC if the HTC One X is getting the update to Sense 5 on their Facebook. And surprisingly, he got a response. HTC responded with this:
HTC will be offering upgrades to some of its existing devices in the next few months, including global variants of HTC One X, One X+, One S and the HTC Butterfly. Also, note that some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates.
While there is room for interpretation, as HTC did not specifically state that they will update the devices they mentioned with Sense 5, it seems like there is a good chance they will. This will make a lot of people happy, considering how fast the One X was replaced and how the change isn’t all that huge. And seeing how Samsung is updating all the older phones to the very different Nature UX from TouchWiz 4, HTC needs to step up their updating game.
Sadly the AT&T variant of the One X won't see an official Sense 5. AT&T has failed miserably with getting the Sense 4+ update out as the AT&T One X is the last of the One X bunch to see Sense 4+. I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T drops Sense 5 out completely for the device.
