There is a new rumor going around that the Huawei Ascend P2 will be water and dust resistant with a certification level of IP54. This means that it will be resistant to dust but not sealed to it, and will survive splashes of water but not any sort of submersion. For a phone that’s trying to be as thin as possible, this is a fairly impressive feat if it turns out to be true.
The Huawei Ascend D2 got a rating of IP67, which means it is dust sealed and can survive immersion in water up to a meter for 30 minutes. While the P2′s certification is not as good, it’s still great to have.
For a spec list, you get a 4.5″ 1080p display, 1.8GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 3,000 mAh battery, dual cameras (13MP rear and 1.3MP front), and 4.1 Jelly Bean all in a really thin package. Of course, this is all rumors, so take it with a grain of salt. Hopefully it’ll have a microSD slot for extra storage. So what do you guys think? Does the water and dust resistance impress you?
