Sony Xperia Z Release Date Revealed To Be February 28th In The UK

The Sony Xperia Z has received an official release date… at least in the UK.

Three, Vodafone, and O2 have all listed on their websites that Sony’s flagship smartphone will launch on February 28th, and they have all started taking pre-orders for the device.

If you’re one of the first 1000 people to pre-order the Sony Xperia Z from Three, you will also receive a pair of High Definition Sony MDR-1R headphones worth £299 for free.

The Sony Xperia Z has received a lot of praise since its announcement at CES. It’s definitely going to be a smartphone capable of giving the HTC M7 and Samsung Galaxy S IV a run for their money. With Sony releasing its smartphone way ahead of HTC and Samsung, it’ll be able to grab a ton of customers before HTC and Samsung can get into the competition.

Here are the specs for the Sony Xperia Z:

  • 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor
  • 1080p HD 5-inch display
  • 13.1MP rear camera with Exmor R sensor
  • 2.2 front-facing camera
  • Up to 16GB memory; expandable (up to 32GB)
  • 2GB RAM
  • NFC
  • Water and dust resistant
  • 2,330 mAh battery
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean(Android 4.2 will come in the future)
  • LTE
  • Available in three colors: black, white and purple

There has yet to be an official U.S. release date for the Sony Xperia Z, but we can imagine that it will be announced sometime around February 28th as well.
