It isn’t the newest tablet on the market, hell it could even be replaced in a few months, but it’s still a solid choice. With a dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor at 1GHz, 1Gb of RAM, and a 7″ 1024×600 display, it isn’t a beast in specs by any means. But with a Jelly Bean update and the hybrid small tablet UI from the Nexus 7 coupled with hardware that holds its ground, it could be a great tablet.
And for $150, it’s a great deal. There is nothing in its price range that’s better, unless you step up to the Nexus 7. However, unlike the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 offers a microSD slot to augment its 8GB of storage, and the audio isn’t terrible (we’re looking at you, Tegra 3).
