LG Announces Value Pack For Optimus G Pro, Adds Features Such As Smart Video

LG continues the trend of throwing in more “smart” features into their phone with the Value Pack. It’s a software upgrade LG has just announced for the LG Optimus G Pro. It includes a few new features, one of which is Smart Video. It’s a feature that tracks your eyes during video playback, and when you look away, it’ll pause the video. Sound familiar? It’s a feature Samsung planned for their Galaxy S IV. This reminds me of LG including a Smart Stay-like feature in their Optimus G.

There are other features included too, like new LED customizations. here is a full list:

  • Magic Remote Pad and Text Keypad via the QRemote function. These new options for QRemote work specifically with LG Smart TVs to enhance convenience when using Optimus G Pro as a remote control for LG Smart TVs.
  • The Smart LED Lighting outlining the home button of the Optimus G Pro will be upgraded so users can customize the colors to correspond to their favorite contacts. The flashing of the LED in different colors will allow users to identify the source of incoming calls, missed calls, unread messages and emails.
  • Video Pause/Resume allows the user to stop and start in record mode for one continuous video file.
  • The first Color Emoticons in an Android smartphone for more personalized text messages.

The Value Pack sounds like a great idea (if not a bit like Samsung’s Premium Suite) and we hope they release it soon. Sadly, only Korea has the G Pro right now, so we won’t be able to try it for ourselves. But luckily, they say other handsets will get the same update soon. Maybe US Optimus G’s? We hope so!
