If you ordered an OUYA console, and it isn’t personalized enough for you, OUYA has partnered with MarketBot to let you create your own shells for the console. The plans that they have released are made for the MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer, so you’ll have to own one of those, but if you do, you’ll be able to print your own case, lid, and spring loaded button for the OUYA. You’ll also be able to customize it by downloading the files, if you want to add some nice flair.
Hit the source link for all the files and instructions, if you’re inclined to actually go for it. It’s awesome that the OUYA team has thought so far ahead to make this console as “open” as possible. It adds a real personal element. Do you think this is a good idea, or just some gimmick? Tell us in the comments!
